Solar panels sized for your roof and for your bills.

We measure the roof, look at how your household uses power, then design and fit an MCS certified system with the right panels, inverter and, where it pays, a battery. Our own crews do the fitting.

  • MCScertified installs, so your supplier pays you for export
  • 0%VAT on panels and batteries until 31 March 2027
  • 1 to 3days on site for most homes

What you get with a County Energy system.

A survey, a design drawn for your roof, the fitting and the paperwork, from one team you can ring.

  • A design for your roof, not a kit. We measure pitch, direction and shade at the survey, and use two roof faces when one is too small. East and west facing roofs work well and spread your power across the day.
  • Panels, inverter and battery chosen together. Sized from your bills so you use as much of your own power as possible, with room to add a battery or a car charger later.
  • Scaffold, wiring and paperwork included. We put up the scaffold, tell the network operator, register the system and give you the MCS certificate your supplier asks for before paying for export.
  • Shown how it all works. We set up the monitoring app before we leave and help you pick an export tariff.

What your panels do from sunrise to sunset.

Scroll and the sun crosses the roof. The curve shows the shape of a sunny day: the power your home uses as it goes, and the spare a battery could keep for the evening.

  1. Morning

The panels start working at first light and cover the fridge, the kettle and everything on standby.

  2. Midday

Output peaks while most homes are empty. Without a battery the spare goes to the grid, and your supplier pays you for it under the Smart Export Guarantee.

  3. Evening

Output falls as the sun drops, just as cooking, lights and the TV push your use up. That gap is what a battery fills.

In Wales, Green Homes Wales offers interest-free loans of £1,000 to £25,000 towards solar and batteries, with six months before the first repayment. Government-backed low interest loans for solar are being rolled out through approved lenders across the UK. We tell you what applies at the survey.

How a solar install is done

Four visits or fewer, and one person to call throughout.

  1. Free survey

We measure the roof, check the shading and the fuse board, and look through a year of your bills.

  2. Design and quote

You get a panel layout, the expected generation and a written quote. No pressure to decide on the day.

  3. Fitting

Scaffold up, panels on, inverter wired in. Most homes take one to three days, and we leave it tidy.

  4. Switch-on

We commission the system, set up the app, notify the network operator and send your MCS certificate.

Solar questions we hear at every survey

Something we have not covered? Call 01633 526713 or see every question we get asked.

Most are. A roof facing anywhere from east round to west works, and we can use two roof faces if one alone is too small. Shade from trees or chimneys matters more than direction, which is why we measure it at the survey rather than guess from a satellite photo.

Usually not. Panels on a house roof count as permitted development in England and Wales in most cases. Listed buildings, flats and some conservation areas can need consent, and we check that at the survey.

Yes. Panels make power from daylight, not heat, so they keep generating on bright, cloudy days, just less than in full sun. Cool weather helps them run efficiently.

Yes. We can add a battery to a new or an existing system, including one we did not fit. If a battery might come later, we choose an inverter that makes that simple.

Through the Smart Export Guarantee. Your energy supplier pays you for each unit you send to the grid. You need an MCS certificate, which we give you, and a smart meter that records export.
