Air source heat pumps designed room by room, with £7,500 off.

We size the heat pump room by room, so it keeps you warm on the coldest morning, then take the £7,500 grant off your quote.

  • £7,500grant, taken off your price
  • 3 to 4units of heat per unit of power
  • 0%VAT until 31 March 2027

What you get from the survey to a warm house.

A design worked out for your house, the fitting, the grant and the paperwork, from one team you can ring.

  • A heat loss calculation for every room. We measure each room, its walls and its windows, and size the heat pump for the coldest days of the year, not from a rule of thumb.
  • Your radiators checked. A heat pump runs the heating at a lower water temperature than a boiler, so some rooms need a larger radiator. We tell you which ones at the survey.
  • A hot water cylinder sized for your household. The heat pump heats your hot water too. We size the cylinder to the number of people at home and find the best place for it.
  • The grant claimed for you. Only MCS certified installers can apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. We apply, and the £7,500 comes off your quote, so you never pay it and wait.

How a heat pump gets heat from cold air.

Scroll to follow the refrigerant round the loop. The same four parts run all day, on a frosty morning too.

  1. 1 of 5

    Outside air

The fan draws outside air across the coil. Even cold winter air holds heat that a heat pump can use.

  2. 2 of 5

    Evaporator

The refrigerant in the coil is colder than the air, so it soaks up that heat and boils into a gas.

  3. 3 of 5

    Compressor

The compressor squeezes the gas. Squeezing it makes it much hotter, hot enough to heat your home.

  4. 4 of 5

    Heat exchanger

The hot gas hands its heat to the water for your radiators and hot water cylinder, and turns back into a liquid.

  5. 5 of 5

    Expansion valve

The pressure drops, the refrigerant turns very cold again and goes back round the loop for more heat.

For every unit of electricity it uses, a heat pump puts three to four units of heat into your home. Water temperatures are typical; your design sets your own.

£7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant towards an air source heat pump, in England and Wales

The grant comes off your price.

You need to own the home and be replacing gas, oil, LPG or electric heating. Since 28 April 2026 you no longer need an EPC. Homes on oil or LPG with no mains gas can get £9,000 from 21 July 2026 until 31 March 2027. In Wales, Green Homes Wales interest-free loans also cover heat pumps. And there is no VAT on a heat pump fitted in your home until 31 March 2027.

How a heat pump install is done

From the first visit to a warm house, with one person to call throughout.

  1. Free survey

We measure every room, look at the radiators and pipework, and find the right spot for the outdoor unit.

  2. Design and quote

You get the heat loss figures, the heat pump size and a written quote with the grant already taken off.

  3. Fitting

The outdoor unit, the cylinder and any larger radiators go in, and the old boiler comes out.

  4. Switch-on

We set up the controls, show you how to use them, and register the install so the grant can be paid.

Heat pump questions we hear at every survey

Yes, when it is sized and designed for the house. We calculate the heat loss of every room, check the radiators and the insulation, and choose the heat pump from that. Heat pumps keep working in temperatures well below anything South Wales or Gloucestershire sees.

Not always. A heat pump heats the water to a lower temperature than a boiler, so a room needs enough radiator to give out the same heat. Our room by room calculation shows which radiators can stay and which need to be larger.

You need to own the home, in England or Wales, and be replacing gas, oil, LPG or electric heating. Since 28 April 2026 you no longer need an EPC. Homes on oil or LPG with no mains gas can get £9,000 until 31 March 2027. We apply for you and take it off your price. See every grant and loan.

In Wales, a heat pump does not usually need planning permission, as it counts as permitted development. Listed buildings and conservation areas can have different rules, and we check what applies to your home at the survey.

Yes. The panels cover part of what the heat pump uses, most of all for hot water on sunny days, and a battery can store cheap overnight or solar power for the evening. We can design the two together.
